Nolan Ryan

Nolan Ryan defined "power pitching" during his brief 7-season DTFB career. He ranks 19th in career strikeouts, despite playing five or more fewer seasons than any of the top 18. Still holds the second- and third- highest single-season strikeout totals with 388 in Season III and 379 in Season I. Has the second-best career ERA mark among pitchers with 1500 or more innings (3.53). The award for outstanding pitcher is named after him, though he never won the award.

"Ryno" set the standard for offensive-minded infielders by hitting a whopping 63 homeruns in Season II. His 233 career homers ranks 5th among middle-infielders even though he only played nine seasons. A perennial first-round pick and high salary player, the league's MVP award is named after him - an award he won in Season II.

Tony Gwynn

Tony Gwynn was the model of consistency during his 21-season DTFB career. His .318 career average is tied for the best ever and his .391 batting average in Season XI is still a record today. He ranks second all-time in hits with 3772 and first in doubles with 700.

Mark McGwire redefined "power hitter" during his brilliant 18-season DTFB career. His .595 slugging percentage is by far the best in league history and he was the first player to hit 900 career homers. He hit over 70 homers in a season four times and his 78 homers in season XVI were a league record until Barry Bonds broke it in season XXIV. His one homer per 9.65 at-bats during his career is by far the best in DTFB history, as is his 50.8 homers per season.
