Day Ten - Four Cobras pitchers combine for second one-hitter of the week, Cobras move into tie with idle Grogs
by El Commish
|
11/20@10;31p
- With one day to play, the Cobras and Grogs have identical 90-71 records in the race for the #1 seed. The Cobras hold a 10-9 head-to-head advantage over the Grogs, so they control their own destiny. If the Cobras defeat the Bohemians, they are the #1 seed. If they lose, the Grogs must defeat the Tramplers to get the #1 seed. The Cobras accomplished the win by tossing their second one-hitter of the week. This time, Lester, Soria, Rhodes, and Wagner combined to defeat the Gamblers 2-0. The Cobras have won six straight games and the Gamblers have lost eight straight. The Daemons completed their regular season with a 85-77 record. The other eight teams all have one game to play.

Day Eight - Liriano Tosses CG 1-Hitter for Cobras, Grogs Hammers Tramplers to Clinch Honus
by El Commish
|
11/20@10;23p
- Nelson Liriano of the Cobras tossed a complete-game one-hitter against the Bohemians as the Cobras maintained pace with the Grogs in the race for the #1 seed. The Grogs hammered the Tramplers 10-5 to take a 2-game lead in the Honus with 2 to play. Because of head-to-head, the Grogs have clinched the Honus division. The Tramplers and Daemons will be the #4 and #5 seeds, but the order could change. In the race for the #1 seed, the Grogs are 89-71, the Cobras are 88-71, and the Doomsters are 86-73. The Doomsters are mathematically alive for the #1 seed still.

12/01@8;49a
- This looks like the most even playoffs in many years. Despite what the cobra thinks, the championship isn't just between him and the doomster. Especially, since he benefited from the worst division in the history of the game.

Playoff-Related Injuries
by El Commish
11/20@10;44p
- The Daemons will be without starting pitcher Cahill for the wildcard round of the playoffs. They will also be without infielder Jamie Carroll for most of the wildcard round. The Cobras have an injury to Hall that should be clear before their first playoff game.

Final Day, Part Two - Grogs shutout Tramplers 2-0, take #1 seed
by El Commish
|
11/20@10;39p
- Bronson Arroyo and Juaquin Benoit combined to pitch a 4-hitter against the Tramplers as the Grogs took the #1 seed. They will face the winner of the matchup between their division rivals, the Daemons and Tramplers. Meanwhile, the Cobras fell to the #2 seed and will face the #3 seed Doomsters. In other games, the Blackriders finished the season 81-81 and just 4 games out of the playoffs after a woeful start and being left for dead by most pundits. The Gamblers lost their final 9 games of the season to finish with a horrendous 58-104 record.

Final Day, Part One - Bohemians defeat Cobras 5-3, Grogs in control of own destiny
by El Commish
|
11/20@10;34p
- The Cobras must now watch the scoreboard after being defeated by the Bohemians 5-3. Latos got knocked out after 3.2 innings and the Cobras couldn't come back against the Bohemians bullpen. The next game is for the #1 seed... Tramplers at Grogs. Can Van help out his brother? Stay tuned....

by El Commish
|
11/20@10;12p
- Despite getting three homeruns from Jay Bruce, the Grogs lost to the Daemons 8-6. The idle Tramplers moved to just 0.5 games back in the Honus. The Cobras moved a game ahead of the Doomsters in the race for seeding, and are now tied in the loss column with the Grogs and Tramplers. The Daemons' victory eliminated the Blackriders from the playoffs, even though the Blackriders won.

Day Five - Bohemians Eliminated
by El Commish
|
11/20@9;56p
- The Bohemians lost 3-1 to the Grogs and were eliminated from the playoffs after the Daemons defeated the Gamblers in 10 innings. The BlackRiders are still mathematically alive to tie for the final playoffs spot, but they need the Daemons to lose their final four games while winning their own final six. The Grogs with 70 losses, and the Tramplers, Cobras, and Doomsters with 71 losses are in a death-match that will likely decide the top 4 seeds. The Tramplers beat the Doomsters in 17 innings to stay within one game of the Grogs. The Cobras and Doomsters have clinched no worse than the #3 seed. Pausing now to upload...
